TIMEPOD

MOTIVATION

This idea had been my mind for a few years now, and unlike most ideas that eventually fade away, this one keeps coming back.  The concept is simple; provide a mobile app for users to attach digital memories that can only be opened at a later time.  These memories can be sent to friends, families, or the user him/herself.  Think time capsule meets reverse Snapchat.

I wanted to use this idea as a chance for myself to build something completely from scratch.  There were two skills I really wanted to hone in on as part of this exercise; breaking down requirements into functional user stories used in Agile development and building high fidelity mock-ups using Axure and Adobe Photoshop.

AGILE DEVELOPMENT METHODOLOGY

The approach I took here was to create a site map of the mobile app first and place each functional requirement within their respective pages.  From there, I assigned story points to each and split the work up into three separate sprints.

High Fidelity Mockup

Up until now, I've been using Balsalmiq and just general paper napkin mock-ups for fast prototyping.  However, I wanted to try out Axure because of all the great things I've heard about it.  I also wanted to take this opportunity to dive into some basic Photoshop editing.  Below are a few images that portrays different portions of the user experience.
